Eight hour daily sentence

father daughter‘I’m over this’ he thought, methodically striking the keys; report then meetings and then another bloody report. Eight hours in the office-cum-jail, then a sweaty hour in an overcrowded train carriage.

Then, just as turning the key, felt like pulling the trigger on a gun … she spoke.


All he needed to last another day.
